Position Description
CGI Federal seeks a highly-motivated security professional to support a large Federal agency. The Information Security Analyst will be a part of a security team that supports projects’ information security needs to comply with comprehensive security programs and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF). Responsibilities include providing cybersecurity management for operational performance and compliance. The Information Security Analyst will support security assessments, new authorizations, and continuous monitoring requirements to obtain or maintain the Authorization to Operate (ATO) for systems. The Information Security Analyst will develop security documentation, analyze security controls, manage vulnerability remediation activities, and assist with the integration of new technology with information security standards.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Support security assessments and audits by addressing security controls and collecting artifacts
• Prepare, validate, and maintain security documentation including, but not limited to: System Security Plan (SSP), Contingency Plan, Incident Response Plan, and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)
• Manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) through remediation
• Prepare and deliver status reports on vulnerabilities, incidents, and risk management activities
• Configure vulnerability scanning tools, review scan results, and manage remediation activities
• Review system logs for anomalous behavior, investigate events, and report findings
• Work with help desk staff to close Tier I/II security incidents and escalate to Tier III as appropriate
• Participate in Security Impact Assessments (SIA) to evaluate the effect of system changes on security posture
• Work in a team setting to provide recommendations for system security improvements and optimization
Due to contract requirements US citizenship or Greencard is required.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Formal education and/or certification(s) that establish knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practice.
Minimum Years of directly related experience Required: 1 year.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree
• Have strong analysis and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Be able to establish and maintain strong customer-focused working relationships
• Be a team player with the ability to work independently and proactively while being flexible and prioritizing competing priorities, often under time constraints
