Position Description:
CGI is actively seeking a Delivery Manager and Java Developer to complete development activities and manage pipelines for code delivery on a next generation upgrade. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining containerized microservices around a pub/sub application design in a cloud native environment. You will work closely with and as part of the development team to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
This position can be performed from any CGI US office location.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
May perform up to 90% or more software development, based program phases and needs
Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs
Develops microservices in a cloud native environment
Operates an enterprise scale production system. ?Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves system issues.
Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team
Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
High-level objectives include, but are not limited to the following:
Migrate all current-system functionality from the mainframes and operate within a cloud-based environment (AWS GovCloud)
Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch, providing a faster response and report creation time for law enforcement.
Build new services to follow a microservices architecture and run within containers using the OpenShift platform.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of work experience
Active Tier 3 Secret clearance
Experience working within the Agile methodology
3+ years' experience with Java Object-Oriented Programming
Experience with Spring Boot and related microservice frameworks.
Deep knowledge of Git, including branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development) and pull request workflows.
Experience with CI/CD Tooling
Proven, hands-on experience with Tekton or similar pipeline-as-code tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc
Proven, hands-on experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools like Flux.
Solid understanding of GitOps principles.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
Demonstrable experience working within a microservice architecture, including understanding its challenges and patterns.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
Experience with Apache Kafka
Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe).
Streaming experience, is a plus
Familiarity with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for version control management, is a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 - $172,400.00.
