Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Management professional with a strong background in SAM Process and Concepts including hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro Implementation. This role will be responsible for ensuring effective lifecycle management of Software assets, license compliance, optimization of software spend and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Asset Management (SAM):
. Manage software discovery, normalization, and reconcile.
. Process incoming license requests by Validating user eligibility, approval workflows, and available license pool.
. Manage license removal and ensure application is removed from user/device.
. Track software usage, entitlements, and compliance across the organization.
. Prepare periodic BAU reports.
. Conduct license compliance audits for major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle, IBM, etc.).
. Implement software harvesting, re-harvesting, and license optimization strategies.
. Identify opportunities to reduce software costs and improve license utilization.
. Supported end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow SAM Pro for key publishers like Microsoft, Adobe, and Autodesk.
. Assist in configuring software models, publisher packs, normalization rules, and entitlement mappings.
. Participates in loading and validating license entitlements, contracts, SKUs, and product-use rights.
. Helps to configure and test reconciliation rules to calculate compliance positions.
. Contributed to building dashboards and reports for usage, compliance, and optimization.
. Manage integration between ServiceNow and Intune for software discovery, installation, and usage data.
Required Skills and Experience:
. 3–5 years of experience in Software Asset Management SAM.
. Hands-on expertise in ServiceNow SAM
. Strong understanding of ITAM frameworks
. Proficient in Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
. Experience with license management of top vendors: Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc.
. Familiarity with asset discovery tools (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, Flexera, etc.)
. Analytical thinking for identifying risks, cost-saving opportunities, and usage patterns.
. Good communication and documentation skills.
Certifications Preferred:
. ServiceNow SAM Specialist
. ITIL v4 Foundation
Soft Skills:
. Attention to detail and analytical thinking
. Proactive mindset to identify risks and savings
. Strong collaboration with IT, Finance, Procurement, and Security teams
. Process-oriented and documentation-driven approach
