Automation Tester

Job description

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client's and/or downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

o Collaborate with Application Development Leads to integrate quality assurance concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline.
o Partner with Solution Architects to identify end-to-end application architecture changes to drive quality assurance strategies during testing.

• Application Testing:
o Conduct application testing in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing across various environments including cloud, business workflows, services/APIs, and databases.
o Develop and implement efficient test strategies focused on automation.

• Test Case Design:
o Lead the design of test cases to ensure optimal coverage through unit tests, component/service-based tests, and complex real-life test scenarios.

• Automation Frameworks and Tools:
o Utilize a variety of test automation frameworks/tools such as SoapUI/ReadyAPI and Robot Framework.
o Develop scripts using scripting languages like Perl, Python, and Bash.

• Automation Test Scripts:
o Design and code automation test scripts using Robot Automation Framework, Python, Selenium, and API.

• Database and SQL:
o Execute complex SQL queries and manage large datasets.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

o Utilize tools such as Jira, HP ALM, ReadyAPI, or Postman.
o Work with operating platforms including UNIX/Linux/AIX and Windows.
o Employ platforms/tools/frameworks/services/libraries like Rest API, Jira, DevOps (Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, UCD, Docker), JMeter, and Robot.
o Methodologies:
o Apply Agile methodologies in the testing process.
o Education and Certification Requirements:
o Required:
o Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related work experience.
o Demonstrated leadership abilities.
