Your role as an Alternative Credit Investment Specialist will report to the Co-Heads of Secured Finance and you will be part of the AXA IM Alts department.

Within AXA IM Alts, the Secured Finance team manages +€25bn of securitized assets (ABS & CLO, ILS, Private Financings) with local presence in Europe and in the US
DISCOVER your opportunity
You will be responsible for sourcing and analyzing new transactions, as well as developing our quantitative capabilities to monitor global market trends in both public and private credit markets. This includes leveraging our internal database to assess existing securitization performances.
Additionally, you will assist the team in driving business growth by developing and maintaining marketing materials, presentations, pitches, etc.
Your role and responsibilities:
Credit Underwriting and Monitoring
- Underwriting new investments in securitized products, including ABS, CLO, RMBS, CMBS and ILS (modeling transactions, reviewing legal documentation, negotiating with deal counterparties, conducting due diligence on managers or servicers, performing ESG scoring and sustainability risk assessments, and drafting credit memos and presentations for investment committees).
- Monitoring existing investments (quantitative analysis of historical performance, cash flow forecasts, regular discussions with key parties, and providing analysis and recommendations).
- Actively participating in the due diligence of ABS originators and CLO managers, as well as asset class reviews.
- Supporting analytical needs for secondary trades.
- Participating in investment committees (agenda setting, minute taking, and coordination with trading and the main portfolio manager).
Support to Portfolio Management and Business Development
- Assisting in the management of various funds and mandates (daily monitoring of portfolios and key risk parameters, NAV validation, booking new transactions, reporting, etc.).
- Supporting new business development through global marketing and client engagements.
- Creating and maintaining materials, including team presentations and pitches.
Quantitative Investment Research
- Conducting research on topics relevant to the alternative credit platform to formulate macro strategies and generate pertinent economic analyses in both public and private secured credit.
- Comparing investment opportunities across different asset classes to capture relative value, with a focus on secured credit and private debt markets.
- Leveraging our database to extract key information on CLO managers' performance and behavior, including deal and manager clustering.
- Developing and maintaining quantitative tools in Python, Excel VBA, and other applications.
- Contributing to the use of AI in investment analysis.

Qualifications :

Education/Qualifications: Graduate from a top engineering school, business school, or university, with a background in mathematics, finance, and/or computer science.
Experience: Previous experience (e.g., through internships) in a bank or asset management firm. Familiarity with securitization (e.g., through projects or dedicated courses) is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and VBA, along with intermediate skills in Python.
