Which team will you be a part of?
AXA EssentiALL (AXA EssentiALL: Inclusive insurance | AXA) is a business unit dedicated to protecting low-to-middle income populations in Asia, Africa, Latin America and more recently in Europe to help them secure their socio-economic trajectories. It is composed of a dozen experts at global level as well as local experts in each of the +15 countries where it is active.
The team specializes in developing inclusive insurance which is defined as “access to and use of appropriate and affordable insurance products and services for the unserved or underserved populations”. As an illustration, AXA Emerging Customers develop affordable life or health insurance products for farmers, shopkeepers, micro-entrepreneurs, migrant workers, etc.
Inclusive insurance is part of AXA 2024-26 strategic plan “Unlock the Future” announced in February 2023 by CEO Thomas Buberl. The objective is to develop solutions to underinsured and ill-served populations covering 20 million customers worldwide by 2026 (vs. 14m customers in 2023) by (1) growing in emerging markets and (2) developing solutions in Europe.
Position overview:
AXA EssentiALL is looking for a profile with strong interest in business strategy and transformation, social impact and financial inclusion (definition: individuals and businesses have access to useful, affordable financial products and services - transactions, savings, credits and insurance - that meet their needs and is delivered in a responsible and sustainable way).
The future intern’s primary mission will be to support the team on projects and partnerships to deploy inclusive insurance with a specific focus on Europe. In a tense economic context marked by inflation, more and more customers are facing increasing financial and occupational vulnerabilities jeopardizing their overall level of protection and financial inclusion, which advocate for the development of innovative products and services to better serve their needs.
Main activities:
1. Support market and consumer research: lead research on market trends or specific segments of customers / identify main actors and competitors / legal schemes / national plans on inclusive finance and insurance.
2. Support business development efforts and project management in our different European Markets by:
- Conducting research and analyses on prospect public and private partners to support new business generation.
- Preparing discussion material to present potential public or private partners. And, help follow-up on potential partnerships and bring them to fruition.
3. Support partnership and stakeholder outreach by taking part in production of communications materials both external (e.g., position AXA in industry and think tank reports, articles and interviews, etc.) and internal (e.g., team governance, newsletters, etc.)

Qualifications :
Position requirements:
Student with convention de stage in final Masters year or gap year in management/ economics, political science, entrepreneurship.
Professional and technical skills:
· Fluency in French and English (oral & written). Other European languages is a strong plus (e.g. Spanish, Italian, German…)
· Analytical skills with strong planning ability, autonomy and attention to detail.
· Capacity to consolidate and summarize information from varied sources.
· Strong interest in project management and entrepreneurship.
· Interest in business strategy & transformation.
· Experience in / interest for development and social issues. Knowledge of financial inclusion is a strong plus.
· MS Office: Word, Excel & Power Point – advanced level (mandatory).
Interpersonal skills:
· Motivated by an international and dynamic environment.
· Genuine interest in financial inclusion and social impact.
· Able to work in a team as well as autonomously.
· Enthusiastic, sense of humor.
