About the Job
The Strategic Vendor Manager oversees their assigned vendor portfolio to own the vendor relationship & ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals. This role involves, developing management strategies and engaging with executives for alignment and issue resolution. The strategic vendor manager will assess performance and risk metrics, track consumption patterns, and drive improvements to ensure vendor reliability.
What you do
- Develop tailored management strategies for assigned vendors
- Oversee relationships and performance of critical vendors, engage with executives for strategic alignment, and secure commitment for issue resolution
- Establish and regularly assess performance and risk metrics to ensure vendor reliability and mitigate risks
- Track and analyze consumption patterns with each vendor to ensure to drive improvements (e.g. performance improvement plan, shoring ratio)
- Oversee the financial aspects (contract, spend) and overall portfolio of vendors to ensure alignment with organizational goals and cost-effectiveness
What you bring
- Proven track record in overseeing vendor relationships and portfolios, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.
- Ability to develop tailored management strategies for assigned vendors and engage with executives for strategic alignment and issue resolution.
- Expertise in establishing and assessing performance and risk metrics to ensure vendor reliability and mitigate risks.
- Ability to track and analyze consumption patterns with vendors to drive improvements, such as performance improvement plans and shoring ratios
- Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
- Experience in overseeing financial aspects, including contracts and spend, to ensure vendor alignment with organizational goals and cost-effectiveness.
