Who will you join?
Allianz is one of the leading insurance and asset management companies globally. The Global Sourcing and Procurement function at Allianz SE, the holding company of the Group, is responsible for managing the procurement activities of Allianz Group on a global scale.
We are seeking a Head of Global IT Procurement to lead the strategic procurement activities for the IT categories, including software, infrastructure, and IT services across the Allianz Group worldwide.
In this position you will oversee the Head of Global Software & Cloud Procurement, the Head of Global Hardware & Telcos Procurement, the Head of Global IT Services Procurement, and the Head of Accelerated Procurement, and will report directly to the Allianz Group Chief Procurement Officer.
How can you make an impact?
You will be responsible for:
- Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement the procurement strategy for IT, including software, infrastructure, and IT services in alignment with the Group's overall objectives
- Team Management: Lead and manage an international team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment
- Procurement Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry best practices, compliance with relevant regulations and internal rules, and contribute to the upgrade and transformation of the overall procurement practice
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain productive relationships with global IT suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
- Contract Management: Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and execution of procurement contracts, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal and company requirements
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize purchases while maintaining quality standards, driving cost reduction initiatives, and monitoring spend patterns
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with IT procurement activities, implementing appropriate risk management strategies
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, Finance, and Operations, to understand their requirements and align procurement activities accordingly
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies in IT, providing regular updates to senior management
- Regularly reporting on key procurement metrics, savings achieved, and outline potential opportunities for improvement
What are you made of?
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management)
- Proven multi-year experience in strategic IT Procurement, preferably in the financial sector, with a focus on software, infrastructure, and IT services and an international span of work
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing managers and teams
- Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement planning, contract management, and supplier relationship management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, at senior level (e.g. Sales Directors of IT companies, COOs/CIOs/CTOs of Group companies
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Sound knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices, third-party risk management, and compliance requirements
- Experience in managing a significant procurement spend (i.e. over Eur 2 bn yearly IT spend) is required
- Ability to travel internationally as required
- Previous experience in the financial sector, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
