What will your role be?
As an ALM analyst in the Investment strategy team, you will play a critical role in optimizing the balance between assets and liabilities, ensuring effective capital allocation, and supporting the financial stability of Allianz Benelux. As part of AIM you will be a implementing the strategy on the Annuity, income protection and Allianz Netherlands life and income protection from an investment point of view. This means preparing investment transactions like mortgage sourcing and bond portfolio management. Critical part of the function is to bridge the gap between investment strategy and risk management.
We offer a dynamic and flexible combined role for an ALM and investment strategy expert in the Investment management department covering the Benelux region. It is a broad function as it covers the full scope of ALM and Investment management, the function requires expertise in investing in alternative assets like mortgages and real estate and strong modelling capabilities.
Furthermore, Allianz Benelux is currently in the starting phase of IMAP (Internal Model Approval Process) project, a multi-year project aimed at securing regulatory approval for the use of the internal model. To drive this critical project forward, you will support risk management in the implementation of the Internal Model The IMAP project offers a great opportunity to learn about the entire company and gain the responsibility and exposure necessary for professional growth. You will support on the market risk module of our internal model, providing support on the analysis of various risk types (interest rate, credit spread, equity risks etc) and asset classes among which alternative asset classes such as mortgages.

Your main responsibilities:
- Asset Liability Management: Analyse and monitor the alignment of assets and liabilities, identifying opportunities to optimize investment strategies and mitigate risks.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators related to ALM and Market Risks, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Strategic Asset Allocation: Perform Strategic Asset Allocation of Allianz Benelux portfolios to align ALM and capital management strategies with the company's overall business objectives. This includes explaining results to management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure clear communication, alignment, and transparency
- Risk Assessment: Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments of market & investment related risks, including interest rate, liquidity, and other market risks, to support decision-making processes.
- Internal Model Market Risk: Supporting the Internal Model Market Risk Owner by conducting analysis and monitoring of risk capital results of the internal model.
- Process Optimization: Drive efficiency by continuously improving processes and tools, e.g. automation with programming languages and data solutions, enhancing overall effectiveness and productivity.
What we expect from you:
- You have at least a Master’s degree in Econometrics, Mathematics/Statistics, (Financial) Engineering, Actuarial Sciences or a similar field of expertise
- 1 to 4 years of working experience in the field of Finance/Insurance, with exposure to Investment management, ALM and/or Market Risk, and practical experience of applied financial mathematics.
- Able to communicate fluently (oral and written) in English, and ideally Dutch or French. Other languages are welcome in our team where multiple languages are spoken.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Motivated team player with strong quantitative skills, who can effectively explain complex analyses in an understandable way.
- Creative and critical thinker with a can do mind set while also detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced programmer in any of the following languages: Python, R, Excel, VBA, SQL
- Experience in Investments, Mortgages, Risk Management and Solvency II are a plu
