JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

• This role involves building and maintaining a platform for asset liability management (ALM). This includes independent analysis, design and development of ALM and investments applications and tools for the purpose of monitoring, reporting and managing the asset-liability position of Allianz Life.
• Join a team of actuaries and investment professionals within the Investment Strategy function of Allianz Investment Management (AIM) who are more than experts at just the numbers. You will collaborate with a team of experts across the company to bring forth concepts, analysis and business solutions to further enhance the ALM position of the company. Your partners in these efforts include Actuarial (product design, management and reporting functions), Corporate Risk Management, Finance and other colleagues within AIM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the company ALM model(s), including development, maintenance and execution of the ALM models and asset projection model
• Prepare regular reporting and conduct appropriate analysis on ALM position of the company
• Complete asset-based reporting requirements and related analysis, including that required for transfer portfolio, assumption setting, Cash Flow testing, AG43 / C3P2 asset selection, etc.
• Conduct analysis and investigate solutions as necessary to aid in improving ALM position of the company and overall risk management
• Partner with the General Account Investment team in portfolio optimization processes and tools to support the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) process and in assessing any new investment strategies, allocations or transactions

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this position, you will need :
• Experience: 2+ years (minimum) or 5+ years (preferred), ideally within the Life Insurance or Financial Service industry with particular focus on Asset Liability Management
• Four year degree required: preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics of related technical field
• Advanced degree preferred: ASA/FSA, MBA, CFA, Advanced degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related technical field
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, SQL, VB, MS Access, BondEdge, FactSet, Moses, etc.
• Strong quantitative skills and analytical problem solving ability required
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work and learn independently as well as in a team environment
