Le Volontariat International en Entreprise est un programme unique au monde sponsorisé par les Ministères français de l’Europe et des Affaires Etrangères, du Ministère de l’Economie et des Finances et du Ministère de la Transition écologique et de la Cohésion des territoires et qui permet à Airbus d'offrir à de jeunes professionnels la possibilité d'acquérir une expérience rémunérée et valorisante à l'étranger, dans un métier technique ou commercial.

Le programme VIE est un contrat spécifique, en vertu des critères d'éligibilité de Business France.

Principaux critères d'exigibilité du VIE :

● Être citoyen(ne) de l'Union Européenne (plus Norvège, Islande et Liechtenstein), et candidat(e) diplômé(e) âgé(e) de 28 ans maximum (une mission V.I.E peut débuter au plus tard le jour du vingt-neuvième anniversaire)

● Avoir accompli les obligations militaires de son pays.

● Être impérativement inscrit sur le site Mon Volontariat International avant les 28 ans

La durée d’un VIE est de 6 à 24 mois en fonction du lieu d’affectation.

Airbus Defence & Space recherche un VIE avec un profil de Data scientist ou d’Ingénieur d’étude et développement (f/h) ayant une expérience en télédétection géospatiale pour travailler sur le projet Starling avec l’équipe SDS (Satellite Data Science) du département «  Solutions and Future Services  » au sein de Connected Intelligence.

L’équipe SDS est basée à Toulouse mais le poste de VIE est basé dans la filiale hongroise d’Airbus Defence & Space à Budapest (Hongrie). Le VIE viendra compléter l’équipe Starling locale (9 personnes).

SDS développe des services basés sur des images satellite, notamment la surveillance de la déforestation et l'agriculture de précision. STARLING, développé par Airbus, est un service de suivi de la déforestation et des écosystèmes naturels, à destination de clients souhaitant garantir le respect de leurs engagements en matière de déforestation. Une directive européenne sur la déforestation importée entraîne un développement majeur de ce service, nécessitant une refonte de l'outil actuel et l'introduction de nouvelles fonctionnalités.

Au sein de l’équipe SDS, vous serez impliqué dans la maîtrise de tous les aspects du projet Starling : fonctionnement de la chaîne, cartes d'occupation du sol, surveillance de la forêt. Les premières missions seront centrées sur la prise en compte des retours utilisateurs pour améliorer notre capacité de détection de la déforestation et la création de séries temporelles.

Vous collaborerez avec l’équipe de production et le data scientist sur place, et avec l’équipe SDS en France pour contribuer à développer le service Starling et à répondre aux demandes clients.

Missions et responsabilités :

·  Comprendre le fonctionnement du service Starling actuel et les évolutions prévues,
·  Proposer et mener à bien des projets d'innovation, des études de faisabilité, du benchmarking autour de Starling
·  Définir, développer et valider des workflows répondant aux besoins
·  Proposer des améliorations pour nos solutions en développant des algorithmes/modèles métier
·  Rédaction de spécifications techniques

Compétences requises :

·  Diplôme d’ingénieur, ou équivalent dans un des domaines suivants : télédétection, géomatique, agronomie, forêt, informatique ou mathématiques appliquées...
·  Capacité à résoudre des problèmes complexes, à analyser les besoins d’un client, capacité à travailler en équipe et à sortir des sentiers battus,
·  Créativité et autonomie
·  Expérience en télédétection, géomatique, traitement d’images
·  Connaissance en algorithmie
·  Bonnes capacités de rédaction de documentation technique
·  Maîtrise de Python
·  Français et anglais : niveau négociation

Bonus :

·  Expérience des outils SIG (ArcGIS, QGIS, …)
·  Connaissances en PostGIS, Postgre SQL, GCP, Docker, ArcPy

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

● European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old (a V.I.E mission can begin no later than the day of the twenty-ninth birthday)

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a Data Scientist or Design and Development Engineer (m/f) with experience in geospatial remote sensing to work on the Starling project with the Satellite Data Science (SDS) team of the Solutions and Future Services department within Connected Intelligence. The SDS team is based in Toulouse, but the VIE position is located at the Hungarian subsidiary of Airbus Defence & Space in Budapest, Hungary. The VIE will complement the local Starling team (9 people).

SDS develops services based on satellite imagery, including deforestation monitoring and precision agriculture. STARLING, developed by Airbus, is a deforestation and natural ecosystem monitoring service for customers wishing to ensure compliance with their deforestation commitments. A European directive on imported deforestation is leading to a major expansion of this service, requiring an overhaul of the current tool and the introduction of new features.

As part of the SDS team, you will be involved in overseeing all aspects of the Starling project: chain operations, land-use mapping, and forest monitoring. Your initial assignments will focus on incorporating user feedback to improve our deforestation detection capabilities and create time series.

You will collaborate with the production team and the data scientist on site, as well as with the SDS team in France, to help develop the Starling service and respond to customer requests.

Tasks and accountabilities :

·  Understand how the current Starling service works and planned developments
·  Propose and carry out innovation projects, feasibility studies, and benchmarking around Starling
·  Define, develop, and validate workflows that meet needs
·  Propose improvements to our solutions by developing algorithms/business models
·  Draft technical specifications

Required skills :

• Engineering degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: remote sensing, geomatics, agronomy, forestry, computer science, or applied mathematics, etc.

• Ability to solve complex problems, analyze client needs, work in a team, and think outside the box

• Creativity and autonomy

• Experience in remote sensing, geomatics, and image processing

• Knowledge of algorithms

• Good technical documentation writing skills

• Proficiency in Python

• French and English: negotiation level

• Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)

• Knowledge of PostGIS, PostgreSQL, GCP, Docker, and ArcPy
