A vacancy for a Procurement Contract Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Munich or alternatively in Friedrichshafen or Bremen .
About us:
The Procurement Contract team is a transversal team spread throughout Europe present in 3 countries (france, Germany and UK). We are responsible for working alongside the Commodity and Project Supply Management teams in the Space Systems, AirPower and Connected Intelligence Business Lines, providing contractual expertise and support with the identified Key subcontractors and Suppliers, in the negotiation and post signature of procurement agreements through back office support or direct procurement.
We all have diverse backgrounds ranging from procurement, engineering, services and sales, to project management and legal. Our mission is to shape the Airbus Procurement contractual landscape, delivering best-in-class contractual expertise, standards, guidance & negotiation support, allowing the business to operate in an efficient and safe contractual environment.
Managing the definition and ensuring the implementation of the procurement contractual policy and associated procurement contractual terms and conditions taking into account the inputs/outputs provided by the relevant commodity management, as well as by Legal, Finance, Insurance and Export departments and applicable regulations.
Ensuring the relevance, the quality and consistency of the contracts, and availability of ready-to-use, state-of-the-art procurement contracts for buyers, reflection of evolving legislation, industry practices and Company requirements in standard contracts, conclusion of agreements according to Company’s requirements, Identification of key contractual content for top management, review/validation. clarification of issues, prevention of litigation, ensuring uninterrupted business operations, leverage use of expertise; enabling the supported functions to achieve their objectives, contribution to Company knowledge management and personnel development.
Main main activities will include:
· Drafting, negotiating and managing standard contracts
· Negotiation of the main contracts/agreements, taking into account the opportunities and risks for Airbus
· Performing contract review and supporting the purchasing department in contract management
· Providing advice and legal negotiation guidance
· Ensure compliance with appropriate contract review procedures prior to contract signature
· Participate in the development and updating of the contract database for all procurement contracts within their scope of work
· Ensure flowdown of customer contracts and implement resulting contractual and commercial strategies in all supply contract documents
· Working closely with the legal department as well as finance, insurance, customs, taxes
· Contribute to commodity management in the preparation of RFPs and contracts
· Evaluation of supplier offers in terms of contractual and commercial aspects
· Preparation of the contract close-out report and evaluation of liquidated damages (LDs)
· Collaboration with the Export Control Department
· Contractual support of the Supplier Evaluation and Development (SED) process as required
· New development and enhancement of existing Procurement Academy trainings; coaching and on-the-job training
Desired skills and qualifications

Legal qualification (or comparable) with good knowledge of contract law as well as commercial knowledge, a basic technical understanding and experience in program and supplier management in an international context

Experience in drafting contracts and negotiating procurement contracts
·
Ability to negotiate with suppliers and/or customers in both institutional and commercial settings
·
Good knowledge and experience in procurement related topics
·
Ability to work in a team and an entrepreneurial approach
·
Professional attitude that will be reflected towards external suppliers and internal stakeholders
·
Fluent in German mandatory and English on negotiation level
This role will involve some business travel in Europe (several times a year).
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
