Description of the job
An Airbus Craft Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.
On the Mechanical and Electrical Aircraft Fitter Apprenticeship at Airbus you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Aeronautical Engineering) and a NVQ Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
On completion of our 38 month programme you will become a Skilled Aircraft Fitter with Electrical and Mechanical qualifications.
Apprentices on this programme study at City of Bristol College to achieve their qualifications, and their industry based work takes place at our Airbus A400M Aircraft facility at our site in Filton, Bristol.

Desired profile
Tasks & accountabilities
Your first year on this Craft Apprenticeship programme will predominantly be spent at our partner college to achieve the Level 2 Foundation course; learning about engineering operations, and achieving a number of technical certificates and company required qualifications.
Once the foundation phase is complete, our Craft Apprentices move into the A400M facility at our site in Filton to work alongside our skilled fitters and operators. Here, you'll learn a range of different skills and methods which will enable you to complete your level 3 vocational qualification.
Required skills
In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship candidates must have a minimum of:
· Six GCSEs at Grade C or 4, which must include Maths, English Language and Science (either core and additional/double award, or physics).
· We can consider other qualifications such as Engineering BTEC Level 2, Engineering Diploma, Principle Learning, PEO Level 2 and Pathways to Apprenticeships as two GCSEs. Alternative qualifications must be in addition to the core GCSE subjects stated above.
