The hours of work are 08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 - 13.00 on Friday. Note: To meet operational needs, there may be some occasions that require the need to work flexibly outside of these hours.
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. The role holder will also work closely with the Supply Controller.
Job Purpose
The stores controllers plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and organised management of purchasing, inventory and supplies within the company. They are responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing stock levels, and coordinating with both maintenance and production departments to ensure timely deliveries and replenishment.
Core tasks include, but not limited to, routine purchasing following the purchasing procedure, Stock checking and maintain all stock levels with purchasing lead-times. Managing supplier relations, as well as following the company procedures for Qualification and Assessments for new suppliers. There will also be times of sourcing ad-hoc items.
As the Store Controller, the role holder will proactively work within the XA Purchase System. Also, to develop and apply purchasing/stock keeping solutions to continuously improve the performance and effectiveness of stores and inventory. Represent the production unit (PU) in relation to stores and purchasing with aspects to the wider group and external stakeholders as necessary.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS).
Enter purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases (XA System)
Place orders to replenish stock as needed
Arrange/ track shipments and address any delays
Oversee storage of Inventory/ Stock.
Working with the internal Kan Ban system we have in operation.
Evaluate suppliers offers and negotiate profitable deals
Coordinate regular inventory audits
Liaise with Maintenance and other internal teams to procure services and refurbishments for critical items
Keep updated inventory records (including Critical item details)
Ensure purchases do not exceed budget
Items need to be sent to suppliers for repairs, so these need to be packaged and sent via FEDEX, UPS Etc.
Facilitate day by day deliveries
General warehouse duties including:
Fork Lift Truck (FLT) operations
Material movement including to and from racking
Health & Safety inspections
