SQL DBA

Job description

SQL DBA working with Banking Client for an initial 12-month contract , this will be paying between £500 - £550 per day (inside IR35). This is a Hybrid position, 3 days p/week in the Camberley office.

Main Responsibilities

·  Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.

·  Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.

·  Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

·  Clustering, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, AlwaysOn Replication (Implementation / Design / Support).

·  Database Performance Tuning, Optimisation Diagnostics (using SQL Profiler/Server-side trace profiler, Extended Events, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, Execution Plan and Performance Monitor)

·  Should be able to write T-SQL code (Views, Functions, Stored Procedures Triggers) - Development and Optimisation

·  Backup Recovery, Index Design and Analysis

·  SQL Server Instance/Database Upgrade and Migration

·  Monitor system's health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security

·  Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time

·  Should be able to work in focused environment with applications sensitive to quick response to issues

·  Help refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

·  Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement on an ad-hoc

·  Experience of working in controlled access environment adhering to the baselines

·  Familiar with ITIL - Service Management (Change, Release, Problem and Incident Management)

·  Familiar with Windows Operating System Administration (Windows 2014 + )

·  Familiar with BMC Remedy IT Service Management

·  Good communication skills

·  Working knowledge of PowerShell Scripting

·  Good team player, working with other members of the team and liaising with teams in and out of regions.

·  Familiar with different storage systems and offerings

·  SQL implementations in Azure

Qualifications

·  SQL Server Integrated Service (SSIS) or DTS -Administration

·  SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) -Administration

·  SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) -Administration
