Job Title: Skilled Vehicle Technician
Location: in and around Tower hamlets area
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: £20.29 to £26.06
Are you a skilled Vehicle Technician with a passion for engineering? Our client, a leading organisation in the engineering industry, is seeking a talented individual to join their team. As a Skilled Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment to ensure their optimum performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
· Conducting inspections, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
· Carrying out MOT tests and achieving high pass rates
· Ordering and collecting parts in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency
· Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop environment
· Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks
· Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations
· Driving vehicles as required for collection, delivery, and testing
· Mentoring and providing guidance to colleagues and trainees
· Participating in professional development programmes and staying updated with industry best practises
Required Skills and Experience:
· Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in Vehicle Technician
· Full and clean driving licence for cars and motorcycles
· PCV DD restricted and/or HGV Class 2 driving licence is desirable
· MOT vehicle examiner certificate for Class 4 (Class 5) and Class 7 vehicles
· Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role, working on a variety of vehicles and equipment
· Proficiency in welding, paint spraying, and fabrication
· Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, body panels, and horticultural/agricultural equipment
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities
