Designing, manufacturing, and building precision components for the defence sector, our client are leaders in their industry. Backed by a global organisation, we are now seeking a new and experienced CNC Turner (skilled) to join their business.

Overall Purpose and Responsibility:
Responsible for setting and operating a range of CNC machinery (Milling, Turning, and Mazak). Editing and writing programs in Haas language to enable the business to successfully meet its customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
� Competent operation in programming and setting a variety of CNC lathe and mills, including our 5-axis CNC machinery.
� Write CNC programmes against the drawing and store in a secure and controlled manner.
� Select and identify appropriate tooling and fixtures to support in the manufacture of components.
� Read and interpret engineer's drawings and manufacture to tight tolerances on a range of metals, including exotic grade alloys.
� Self-inspect components to drawings. Recording the information where needed.
� De-burr components to remove sharp edges.
� Support in the development of SOPs to help standardise processes.
� Recording of work information/data to help monitor costing and efficiency.
� Multi-man between two machines.
� Ensure material and product traceability is always maintained. Recording Material 'A' numbers on the appropriate paperwork and goods.
� Keep the work area tidy and well organised, in-line with 5S standards or equivalent.
� Complete first line maintenance on machine i.e., remove swarf, check safety features, keep oil and coolant topped up.
� Provide ideas for process improvements.
� Comply with health & safety requirements to perform job safely and complete training as necessary.
� To undertake other roles and tasks as requested that are commensurate with level and function of this post which support business demand.
Shift Pattern
1 st Shift - Mon - Thur 6am-2pm
Fri 6am-12noon
2 nd Shift - Mon-Thur 2pm-11.30pm
Fri - OFF
