Job Description

Main Duties:

·  Assists Engineers for all planning and ensures execution of preventive maintenance of all equipment.
·  Ensures that guest requests and complaints are attended to, promptly and efficiently.
·  Responsible for effective staff scheduling and job allocation.
·  Ensures that employees in the department perform as per organizational standards.
·  Responsible for maintenance of all equipment and work areas as per required standards.
·  Ensures daily work requests from other departments are met promptly and professionally.
·  Ensures compliance with safety rules, standards and procedures.
·  Recommends changes in systems and procedures to increase efficiency and improve service levels.
·  Ensures proper maintenance of tools by departmental employees.
·  Ensures timely receiving of materials and spares by regular follow up with material department.
·  Maintains good relations and professionalism among all the subordinate staff & peers.
·  Communicates shares & inspires all departmental employees, using various formal & informal channels.
·  Maintains cordial relationship with other departments.
·  Coordinates closely with all departments, to ensure upkeep of equipment, machinery & building.
·  Is courteous to all customers.
·  The primary responsibilities of the role include.

Administration

·  Complete and maintain full records of all activities on shift- Daily Log, Daily Roster, Overtime report, overnight checklists, incident reports and any other documents as required by the Chief Engineer.
·  Participate in related project teams,
·  Perform all tasks as detailed in daily task list

Customer Service

· 
·  All guest requests & complaints to be attended in a prompt in an efficient manner and to establish an amicable relationship with all clients, customers and guests of the Hotel.
·  Have a good relationship with all departments and colleagues.
·  Understand, supportive, encouraging and helpful to all.
·  All guest requests & complaints to be attended in a prompt & efficient manner.

Financial

·  Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
·  Optimizes savings in energy expenses by implementing energy conservation programs
·  Monitors consumption on a daily basis and advises Director of Engineering.
·  Monitors expenses on a regular basis.

Operational

Ensures that employees in the department perform as per organizational standards.

Responsible for maintenance of all equipment and work area as per required standards.

·  Monitor steam production and supervise operations and maintenance of the heating plant.
·  Maintain the steam and chilled water distribution system from plant to each building.
·  Direct shifting of boilers as conditions warrant, properly laying up off-line boilers.
·  Direct preparation of chillers and related equipment for start up and supervise proper lay up and cleaning of equipment at end of season.
·  Direct water treatment programs for steam and chilled water production and distribution
·  Assists Engineers for all planning and ensures execution of preventive maintenance of all equipment.

Personnel

Other Duties

·  Working knowledge of mechanical systems to include air conditioning.
·  Working knowledge of current chemical/asbestos regulations.
·  Good supervisory and communication skills.
·  Ability to work well under stressful conditions and time constraints.
·  Must be able to work on call 24 hours/day if emergencies arise.

·  Bachelor’s or relevant degree in an Engineering discipline
·  Proven experience in a similar technical leadership position
·  Ability to lead by example and passion to support your team
·  Proficient in working effectively with diverse engineering team members, 
·  Strong communication skills, able to build and maintain strong
