Key tasks

Ideally, we are hoping to find someone who is prepared to take on a challenging and exciting role within a Health & Safety position. An ideal starter position, we are keen to find a confident person, with excellent communication skills, capable of looking after all aspects of Health & Safety within the different hotels.
You will develop, co-ordinate and monitor the H&S culture of the hotels and legal requirements for H&S, Food safety, Fire safety while being actively involved in Planet 21, Accor’s own environmental programme.
You will carry out internal audits of the hotels, review risk assessments and investigate accidents & allegations. You would also ideally have experience in giving H&S/Food safety and fire risk training to staff and managers. You will have to ability to influence at all levels from staff to senior management and the drive to implement initiatives in a high pressure environment.
Responsibilities:
• Taking full responsibility for managing all aspects of Health & Safety.
• Ensure that Health & Safety policies are updated, maintained, and followed by all employees & visitors.
• Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments.
• Document and investigate all accidents and allegations.
• Co-ordinate the development of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that Health & Safety and training records are up to date.
• Liaise with external Health & Safety consultants.
• Attend Health & Safety meetings, report issues, and complete action plans.
• Complete inspections and audits. You will carry out Internal Audits of the hotels, review risk assessment.
• Provide training. You should also have experience in giving H&S/Food Safety training to Staff and Managers. This is an advisory role so key to your success will be your ability to coach, support and train managers with regards to H&S awareness, legal compliance and best practice and foster and maintain an excellent working relationship with all relevant regulators eg. Environmental Agency and Health and Safety Executive.
• Create & monitor Health & Safety reports.
• Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant Health & Safety legislation and communicate changes to the business.

Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications & Experience
• Previous experience within a Health & Safety role.
• COSHH trained.
• Must hold an EHO or IOSH Diploma qualification.
• Have an excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

• A professional approach and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and co-operatively.
