Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our Conference & Events Operations team, one of Brisbane’s largest conferencing and events operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the food and beverage service for conferences, meetings, and special events, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and smooth operations.
· Supervise and motivate a team of food and beverage staff, providing guidance, training, and support
· Coordinate with event planners and clients to understand and meet their specific requirements
· Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of food and beverage service for various events
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
· Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs to meet budgetary goals
· Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality food preparation
· Monitor and maintain the quality of food and beverage service throughout events
· Prepare reports on event operations, staff performance, and customer satisfaction
· Continuously seek ways to improve service standards and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in food and beverage supervision or management, preferably in a conference or events setting
· An awareness of food safety practices
· Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
· A Food Handler certificate
· Micros knowledge desirable
· Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
· Excellent customer service skills and a customer-focused mindset
· Proficiency in event planning and coordination
· In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and standards
· Experience with inventory management and cost control
· Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the food service industry
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
· Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
