Thesis Work- Investigation of environmental requirements in the design process
JAPAN Design / Civil engineering / Industrial engineering
Job description
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Background
As a global leader in sustainable change, we have a responsibility to build in ways that make our world stronger. We are determined to drive the industry transformation, influence change across the value chain and make a positive impact across several areas.
We have been working with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and carbon footprint analyses. We want to combine the results from the analyses together with our mechanical design setup and implement the information into our design process.
What you will be doing
In this thesis you will analyze how our development process could be adapted to include environmental requirements on carbon emissions and overall sustainability. You will investigate on which level requirements should be set to be most effective, looking both from a machine and sub-assembly level perspective, wanting to avoid sub-optimization. As a result, we want to understand how to optimize our way of working with environmental requirements and how the requirements could be defined within our development process.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have studied environmental science and/or engineering, industrial engineering, systems engineering or similar. You are curious and have an interest for environmental issues. You know how to take responsibility to move forward, collaborate with colleagues and to deliver on time.
We want you to be present at our Braås site in Sweden, but not required to be full-time on site.
Thesis level: The thesis is suitable for 1-2 students on master level and can start from January 2025.
Language: Documentation in English
Last application date: 30th of November 2024.
