Thesis work- Carry-back problem on dumper body
JAPAN IT development
Job description
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Background
Dumper body is the component to carry mass load from A to B. One known problem in this industry is so called ‘carry-back’ problem. This means that some part of the transport material gets stuck in the dumper body and is carried back, which means a loss of productivity.
‘Exhaust gas heating’ system has been a simple and dominant solution for the industry. But for electrical vehicle this solution is not valid any longer. There have been many other ideas tested, but no solution has been possible to fully implement to the Articulated Hauler.
What you will be doing
You will build on, and further investigate the findings from a previous thesis study maid on the subject using simulation approaches with DEM (Discrete Element Method) and software Demify. There seems to be a good potential for the approach, and we would like to reach deeper understanding in different variables to optimize carry-back problem.
