What you will do
As a Test Engineer on the Driver and Vehicle Productivity Testing Team (D&VP), you will support the verification and validation activities associated with, but not limited to, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). You will have the opportunity to work directly with product engineering as well as other Driver and Vehicle Test Engineers. In this role, you will be expected to define, verify and validate the performance of our products according to the defined project features and requirements through methods such as simulation, physical testing/data collection and data analysis. Data will be collected by leading the planning and execution of testing using various resources such as On-Road, Closed Track, or other methods. This role will also provide opportunities to explore and support other testing areas within our team’s core responsibilities.
Responsibilities
· Define test methods in accordance with the requirements
· Work effectively with key stakeholders to plan, manage, prepare and execute testing
· Analyze results and give recommendations in respective technology area
· Prepare and manage fault reports from tests
· Document results through published engineering reports (ER)
· Identify and pursue efficiency gains related to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or other testing areas within D&VP
· Play a role in defining long term investment roadmap within core testing areas
· Participate in global and local internal testing networks
This position will report to the Driver and Vehicle Productivity group manager.
Your future team
Our team is a part of the Features, Verification, and Validation function for Complete Vehicle within Volvo Group North America. Complete Vehicle contributes to deliver the right Products & Services to all Volvo Group brand customers according to product segmentation and brand positioning. Features, Verification & Validation uses deep customer knowledge to break down customer features into technical requirements. We drive validation plans to reach the requested feature level and secure end customer satisfaction. We also manage the verification plans thanks to world class physical and virtual tests on the complete vehicle such as durability testing in rigs, fuel economy testing, reliability testing with customers and a variety of simulations and tests with trucks on proving grounds and open roads.
Who are you?

· Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field, Master preferred
· 3-5+ years of related testing experience in the automotive industry, ADAS testing experience desired, Heavy-Duty truck experience preferred
· Proficient in the use of data acquisition equipment and data processing techniques.
· Proficiency in working with MS Office Applications for engineering reports and presentations
· Knowledge of experimental mechanics with good understanding on principle of instrumentation and sensors
· Proficiency in Python or similar program desired
· CDL holder or desire to attain CDL a plus
· Ability to travel offsite for testing execution, as required
