‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and used through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with the implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group. 



The ‘Data’ function is a large multi-cultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries - Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France.  

What you will do

You will be part of a global team supporting the Data Governance and Data Management area. Your focus will be split between working with our Data Management Tool- and Data Quality- teams.  

 

In this role you will be hands on working with the technical data architecture and your task will be to design, calibrate and implement a scalable architecture that is future proof. You will have a close collaboration with the Lead Data Architect.  

 

Your responsibility will include: 

·  Data Architecture & Innovate: Gather business needs and translate them into data architecture. Define technical solutions Evaluating and supporting new features and functionalities of DMT (Informatica IDMC) & underlying Azure components through prototyping and tech-watch. 
·  Collaborate & Deliver: Work closely with Lead Data Architect, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Digital Product Owners, and key users to capture requirements, prioritize backlogs, and coordinate end-to-end delivery of enhancements. Support the implementation of projects on the Data Management Tool (Informatica IDMC) and Volvo Group Azure Data Platform. 
·  Technical Expertise: Act as a technical expert/ tech lead, contributing to feature development, testing, and coordination. Provide technical guidance to colleagues. 
·  Service Optimization: Monitor service performance, improve component availability, and enhance user satisfaction by driving improvements in solution design and usability. 

Required Competence

 

·  5+ years immersed in Data Architecture - your domain and your expertise would include administrative and hands-on. 
·  Relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or similar. 
·  Informatica IDMC (or similar Data Governance & Data Management tools) wizard– with experience in data quality and integration.  
·  Power BI and Azure pro - skilled in Power BI architecture and experienced with Databricks Unity Catalog, Azure SQL Database, Network and Security. 
·  Azure cloud delivery savvy- familiar with cloud-based operating models and frameworks. 
·  Data Governance and Data Product principles—well-versed in foundational concepts. 
·  Legal and compliance aware- knowledgeable in security and regulatory constraints. 
·  Integration Architecture skills - experience with API and microservices deployment. 
·  Growth mindset champion- committed to collective learning and continuous improvement. 

 

To be successful in this role an analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills (ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple terms for diverse audiences), and a problem-solving attitude to be part of and help drive the data transformation. We are working in a DevSecOps setup so experience from Agile way of working is beneficial. You should have full proficiency in English. 

 

This is a Flexible position, and in this role, you will be joining as a Data Architect in Gothenburg (Sweden) or Wroclaw (Poland). Please mention your desired location when you apply.

This role requires a balance of in-office and remote work, with an expectation of being in the office three days a week.
