During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. 

You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Mariestad Industralization Program

This is us, your new team:  

Volvo Group plan to establish a Battery cell production in Mariestad.
To strengthen the project organization, we are searching for a graduate student within Smart Maintenance. The organization consists of several teams such as Construction, Supply chain, EHSS, Communication and Industrial processes and the role we are looking for will be part of the Industrial processes team. The Industrial processes team consists of several disciplines such as equipment, process, logistics, operations, and maintenance. We are a multicultural team with different experiences.
 

Main activities and responsibilities: 

As a Maintenance Engineer in Smart Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in the entire project lifecycle, from the pre-engineering phase to the procurement of equipment, start-up, and established production in the battery cell factory. 

You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a significant contribution to the future of maintenance. 

In the area of Smart Maintenance, Industry 5.0, IoT, Digitalization, Condition monitoring, Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence your main activities and responsibilities will be to analyze data from sensors and equipment to identify patterns and potential failures. You will create the prerequisites for data driven decision support for maintenance activities and support the integration of IoT devices and automation tools. You will also perform investigations and find solutions in technology and working methods.

Collaboration is a foundation for this role and you will support and collaborate with both external and internal teams and also with cross functional teams to implement maintenance solutions. You will also contribute to the development and deployment of predictive maintenance models and to the continuous improvement initiatives and innovation projects. 

 

Who are you? 

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Smart Maintenance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge maintenance strategies using AI, IoT and data analytics. 

You want to contribute to the transformation of the automotive industry and society towards sustainable and fossil-free solutions with an eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. You are a talented Engineer in the areas of Automation, Maintenance or Data science etc., and are looking to be part of a groundbreaking initiative at the intersection of technology and sustainability. 

You look forward joining our dynamic team as we embark on an ambitious project to establish a cutting-edge battery cell factory. We see that you have a self-development mindset and holistic perspective combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

You are good at communicating, are motivated to venture into new areas of technology and good at taking initiative with a willingness to explore unfamiliar territories by stepping out of your comfort zone. We also see that you have an inclusive personality that values others' ideas and that you have a creative and collaborative approach who always drives for improvements. 

 

 Required knowledge/experience:
 

·  You have a Master's (MSc) or Bachelor's (BSc) degree in the areas of Automation, Production, Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
·  Maximum two years of previous full-time working experience, prior to or after graduation. 
·  You have knowledge in technology and working methods in the areas of Smart maintenance, e.g. in Industry 5.0, IoT, Digitalization, Data analytics and Condition monitoring.
·  In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. Knowledge in Swedish is an advantage.
·  Experience in maintenance within highly automated industries is an advantage.
