What you will do
As a Material Technician in our Logistics Engineering Department, you will be an essential partner to our Logistics Engineers, helping to deliver seamless logistics solutions and support across cross-functional projects. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring our logistics operations align with Volvo’s core values of Quality, Safety, and Environment. This is an opportunity to work within the end-to-end supply chain, contributing to logistics targets and promoting continuous improvement through innovation and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
· Apply expertise in logistics processes and flows, with a deep understanding of the end-to-end logistics supply chain.
· Use in-depth knowledge of logistics IT systems to synchronize physical material flows in the warehouse with information flow.
· Ensure compliance with Volvo Operations Concept (VOC) guidelines and assist in making improvements or changes.
· Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis (RCA) on issues, documenting and addressing them systematically.
· Identify, implement, and promote continuous improvement through Kaizen and Volvo Production System (VPS) principles.
· Conduct audits to ensure compliance with established processes, and propose process improvements.
· Provide systematic, end-to-end solutions to address business needs in logistics.
· Ensure workplace safety by promoting a safety-conscious work environment and following health and safety policies.
Who are you?
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s or tertiary education preferred.
· Knowledge of MTM (STRIPE) or ERP/WMS systems is advantageous.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong analytical skills are a plus.
· Experience with QlikView, Power BI, or SQL is a bonus.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment preferred.
· Strong understanding of logistics systems, processes, lean manufacturing, and Kaizen.
· Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
