What we are looking for:

This thesis aims to establish a clear connection between the surfaces generated during machining and the errors that occur in the machining process.

Significance: 
Machining is a critical component of the production process, directly influencing the quality of the final product. Understanding the relationship between machining errors and surface quality is essential for improving product standards and manufacturing efficiency.

 

Scope: 
The research will focus on:
•    Identifying common errors in the machining process and rank them.
•    Analyzing the impact of these errors on the surface quality of machined products.
•    Developing methodologies to predict and mitigate surface defects based on process errors.

 

Expected Outcomes: 
The thesis is expected to provide valuable insights and practical solutions for the manufacturing industry, including:
•    A detailed analysis of the correlation between machining errors and surface quality.
•    Strategies for minimizing surface defects through improved machining practices.
•    Recommendations for process adjustments to enhance overall product quality.

 

Suitable student background:  Machining, Metrology, Physics, Simulation, Mathematics
Language: English mandatory, Swedish optional
Location: Stockholm/flexible
