Background of thesis project
Servers, physical and virtual, including Kubernetes pods, are critical to today’s digital and data infrastructure. They are the backbone of multiple solutions serving critical business needs. While digital infrastructure is critical to business success, it is equally important to optimize operations and handle outages, planned and unplanned, with limited or zero manual intervention.
Solutions have increased manyfold in terms of complexity, volume and variety. It is critical to make sure that the underneath code and modules are safe and secure, and upgrades are handled with limited or zero manual intervention.
This thesis project focuses on creating a self-learning cognitive agent to handle planned and unplanned outages automatically, scan for server vulnerabilities and act on them, self-heal pods or servers in case of failures and generate KPI reports and suggest improvements. It is an AI based solution to study existing logs, learn from them, generates KPI based reports and suggest improvements.
Description of thesis work
The aim of this project is to create a self-learning cognitive agent to handle planned and unplanned outages automatically, scan for server vulnerabilities and act on them, self-heal pods or servers in case of failures and generate KPI reports and suggest improvements.
Methodology
· Study of relevant theories and principles, and existing research papers, related to inventory management and operations optimization.
· Design a prototype for the agent to heal pods and servers in case of planned or unplanned outages.
