The Role
The Primary purpose of the Production Engineer Technician is to provide daily support to the production assembly lines in order to improve quality and assembly costs while meeting Area KPI targets; drive Continuous Improvements in accordance with Volvo Production System.
The key success factors for this role are to deliver excellence in the performance of the related process, as well as fulfilling the Customer’s expectations, in doing so achieving the Company’s Global Manufacturing KPI’s.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide support to the Production Assembly lines and Cross Functional Team
· Update and maintain assembly instructions for Production in regards to DCN and other changes in assembly that may affect the assembly instructions;
· Improve quality and assembly costs in area of responsibility
· Implement design changes as required
· Support cross functional teams in continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis activities.
· Support process change implementation using the Project Steering Model
· Support the New model Introductions
· Conduct time studies in doing so identifying and removing process bottlenecks
· Create shopfloor layouts ensuring Lean Manufacturing Principles are not compromised
· Assist the Production Engineering Manager with relevant activities as required.
· Ensure compliance with VCVA’s Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment.

Risk Management and Compliance
· Manage risk and compliance in area, including ongoing identification of material risks
· Monitor and ensure adequate risk management and compliance processes are in place
· Contribute to strategic risk management and compliance activities, including ongoing risk identification and mitigation
· Ensure that senior management and your team have a good understanding of the material risks
· Implement and monitor controls to manage risk
· Maintain and oversee all systems of internal control in risk management and compliance systems
· Ensure key legislative requirements are met and changes to legislation are communicated
· Promote a company-wide risk aware culture
This role is being offered on a permanent full-time basis and an immediate start is available for the right candidate. This role falls under the VOLVO GTO QLD ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2024, Level 7 $88,101.93 per annum.

Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
· Relevant degree or engineering qualification would be highly regarded
Business skills & attributes
· 0 to 2 years’ experience within a Production / Production Engineering environment
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Maintains a customer focus at all times
· Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
· Sound knowledge of the Volvo. Mack products an advantage
· Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office packages, Kola, AS400.
· Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
· Experience in using Root Cause Analysis tools to identify root causes and prevent re-occurrence
· Demonstrated ability to work within a cross functional team environment.
