Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon.

Join the Thermal Management Sub Stream, within the Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management department. Embark on the journey to develop the future Volvo Group Thermal Management systems and functions.  

Who are you?

We are looking for a skilled engineer with experience working with complex End User Functions and its requirements, preferably within automotive industry, to develop our Cab Climate related End User Functions.

To be successful in this position, you need to have excellent communication and networking skills and a can-do attitude. You need to have the ability to manage several topics simultaneously and plan complex tasks. You can take ownership and lead of an own area and its deliveries, as well as being a team player.  

 

We also believe you have the following experience/background;

 

·  Applicants shall have MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Mechatronic engineering or a similar technical field of study or equivalent work experience
·  Detailed knowledge of Climate systems (HVAC, A/C system, heating, air quality and filtering)
·  Climate control knowledge
·  Usability / HMI and SW understanding
·  Advanced knowledge of development of mechanic and electric system development 
·  Knowledge in Heat Transfer, Thermodynamic, and Refrigeration Principles
·  Experience from development of functions and logical components, and system/product requirements.
·  Experience from Automotive industry
·  Fluent in English, both spoken and written
·  Volvo documentation competence, e.g. SE Tool, is considered a merit

What’s in it for you?

As an End User Function Owner (EUFO) for our Cab Climate related functions, you will specify the End User Functions according to customer needs and wanted system behaviors. You will own and write the EUF requirements and secure documentation of EUF specifications and requirements in the Volvo systems. The EUF specification shall cover all variations in wanted Cab Climate functionality for all products, brands and enabling systems developed according to the Volvo GTT development process. As EUF Owner you will lead and coordinate quality and safety activities related to your functions in an X-functional network.
