What you will do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certification Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

 

In this important position within our growing organization, you will play a key role in analyzing and determining the BESS certification activities for product introduction in North America. The role involves liaising with colleagues in the Volvo Energy team in Europe and India. You will be an important contact point on BESS for our North America partners and suppliers.

 

·  Design and Implementation: Develop and review BESS configurations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
·  Technical Analysis: Conduct load flow, short circuit, and grounding studies to ensure system reliability.
·  Project Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders, including utility companies and contractors, to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
·  Support During Commissioning: Provide technical assistance during the construction and testing phases to ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in standards and engineering, particularly in the field of battery technology and energy storage solutions.

 

Qualifications

·  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
·  Experience: Typically requires 2-5 years in BESS design, construction, or maintenance.
·  Skills: Strong understanding of power systems, proficiency in relevant software, and familiarity with industry standards.
·  Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  Experience with high-voltage battery systems and energy storage applications.
·  Expert knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for battery systems.
