VINCI Construction Geoinfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised designer-builder of major linear infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To meet the ambitious goals of the project, we are recruiting a Safety, Health and Environment Manager (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Papua New Guinea, in a remote camp on the project site.

Reporting to the Project Director Manager, you will:

• Formalise the project's prevention system in terms of safety and the environment


• Oversee its deployment within the various work packages,


• manage and coordinate the prevention, environment and socio-economics teams. 


• Centralise and analyse reporting on workplace accidents and investigations, as well as the relevance of corrective action plans;


• Identify sources of risk as far upstream as possible in order to promote preventive measures


• Check that site inspections and inspection reports are carried out regularly and monitor the implementation of action plans,


• Check that site facilities comply with safety and environmental regulations


• Ensure that safety and environmental protection issues are integrated at all levels of the worksite, and you act as the spokesperson for these issues within the project management team.


• Check that instructions have been formalised, that safety meetings have been properly organised and that the Health and Safety Committee has been convened,


• Ensure that socio-economic commitments are properly met with local stakeholders


• Ensure that feedback on safety & environment issues is properly communicated within the project.

Desired profile

• You have significant experience (8/10 years) in Health, Safety & Environment on a major earthworks/civil engineering projects. 


• You have in-depth knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.


• You are autonomous, proactive, rigorous and a good teacher.


• You have good managerial skills and a real ability to listen and be diplomatic


• You know how to work in a multidisciplinary and intercultural team


• You are fluent in both spoken and written English and able to lead meetings in this language


• You are adaptable and internationally mobile
