Job description

VINCI Construction Terrassement (VCT) covers all earthworks activities in infrastructure projects and development works. It also includes standard engineering structures and drainage systems. As part of the “Balfour Beatty VINCI” Joint Venture, VINCI Construction Terrassement is involved in the High Speed 2 Project (HS2).

VCT is part of the VINCI Construction Group, a world leader in building and civil engineering (www.vinciconstruction.co.uk). Other divisions in the VINCI Group specialize in concessions, energy, roads and railways. VCT offers expertise adapted to all projects, from traditional construction contracts to PPP projects, in addition to the delivery of turnkey projects including maintenance and operations.

We are seeking for a Methods Engineer to deliver high quality and safe work methods within the HS2 project following the Temporary Works requirements defined by BBV. In this position you will:

• Product Task Briefing Sheets
• Carry out Safety Inspections and associated briefings
  Hazard Identification and contribution to development of SSoW
• Maintain survey equipment including registers of equipment and testing regimes
• Have to read and establish information from drawings, schedules and specification
• Product built drawings & records for every element of the works involved in
• Complete Quality Check Sheets and product information for Handover Documentation
• Maintain accurate records “ Daily Diary, photographs, records of site discussions
• Product accurate daily diary of resources, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and outputs

Desired profile

Requirements & preferred experience:

• Engineering degree completed by an experience in earthworks management.
• Technical skills in civil engineering works, drainage, networks and road rehabilitation will be appreciated.
• Ability to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
• Capacity of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes.
• Ability to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
• Current driving license and CSCS Card
• Understanding of Permit to Dig System, to suit appointment as Authorised Engineer for Permit issue
• Ability to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
• Knowledge of specification and contract documents
• Targeting progression of professional accreditation (e.g. ICE, IHT) desired not essential
