VINCI Construction GeoInfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised designer-builder of major linear infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To meet the ambitious goals of the project, we are recruiting a Method Engineer (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Papua New Guinea, in a remote camp on the project site.

Reporting to the Zone Manager, you will:

• Become familiar with the contract and the context in which the work will be carried out,


• Draw up the most appropriate technical solution- Carry out technical calculations (strength of materials, mechanics, etc.)


• Evaluate/calculate workshop productivity, plan the resources needed to carry out the work accordingly (materials, equipment, resources),


• Draw up the elements required for the budget,


• Draw up the technical elements of the work schedule,


• Draw up a risk analysis for the technical parts, including safety  and the environment ,


• Manage specialist design offices,


• Execute the deliverables or have them executed by the designers / CAD technicians,


• Determine the equipment specifications,


• Define and draw up work sequences,


• Evaluate possible methods of execution


• Monitor the design and implementation of the works,


• Draft technical execution procedures,


• Participate in expert audits


• Assist the worksite in drawing up claims files.

Desired profile

• You have a degree in civil engineering (at least Bachelor level)


• You have a comprehensive and proven experience on large civil engineering projects and if possible, abroad


• You have good interpersonal skills, listening skills and diplomacy


• You demonstrate rigor and method, analytical skills, and anticipation to successfully complete your project.


• You have a professional Knowledge of computer tools for project follow-up and planning 


• You are autonomous on Autocad


• You are reliable, responsive, easy to work with and able to build relationships


• You are adaptable (particularly to the site environment and to cultures different from your own) and internationally mobile


• Your balance, temperament and resilience make you well-suited to joining an isolated base-living project (life in the workplace / alternating periods of work and rest).


• You have a good command of English (including technical English, as contracts and standards are drawn up in English) and can work in a multicultural environment.
