VINCI Construction Geoinfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised designer-builder of major linear infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To lead and coordinate the execution studies of the project, we are recruiting a Design Manager (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Papua New Guinea, in a remote camp on the project site.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will :

• Ensure that the execution studies are consistent with the design file;


• Draw up and monitor a design schedule including, in particular, the various stages of checking, reworking and validation of the work in line with the work objectives.


• Manage the execution studies file 


• Participate in the consultation of design offices in support of the Project Management Team;


• Assist in managing the design offices; drawing up the list of input data for the studies. Ensure that the input meet the needs of the service provider design offices and comply with the design.


• Ensure the technical follow-up of the studies. 


• Manage the interface between production and the design office.


• Ensure that the design offices comply with the schedule for execution studies.


• Ensure that the documents approved for execution are distributed to site operatives.


• Organise and lead meetings to resolve technical problems between the design offices and the customer.


• Monitor and control the integration of methods in the execution design file: taking account of stresses during the construction phase and constraints resulting from phasing.

Desired profile

• Initial Degree in civil engineering


• You have a proven track in construction or technical fields of big infrastructures projects


• You show excellent ability to work in a team, commitment, and flexibility.


• You have good interpersonal skills, are highly adaptable and shows Intercultural awareness


• You are autonomous and proactive in your work and organisation 


• Your balance, temperament and resilience make you well-suited to joining an isolated base-living project (life in the workplace / alternating periods of work and rest).


• You have a good command of English (including technical English, as contracts and standards are drawn up in English)
