VINCI Construction GeoInfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised designer-builder of major linear infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To provide operational management, leadership and control of a a Civil Engineering transverse team comprising engineering and supervisory resources at all levels and facilitation of strong links with other teams within and external to the project, we are seeking for an experienced Civil Engineering (Construction) Zone Manager (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Papua New Guinea, in a remote camp on the project site. (Rotations 9 on / 3 off) 

Reporting to the Project Construction Manager, your main duties will be as follow:

• You will oversee a project zone comprising the construction/renovation of an Airstrip and its buildings, a quay and several bridges.


• You will be responsible for all aspects of the Civil Engineering activities, logistics, supply chain, interface management, fabrication, optimization, and erection to meet the needs of the project, considering the specific constraints of the work in this part of the world.


• You will specifically interface with project planning, ensure the mobilization is done in due course, coordinate with other disciplines, contribute to procurement strategy, mitigate project risk factors, and promote safety method of work’s execution.


• You will ensure the delivery, control and validation of Civil Engineering in line with the Design 


• You will ensure the compliance with technical and contractual requirements, especially with regards to Health & Safety and Environment


• You will monitor, manage, and secure the performance of the subcontractors in Civil Engineering scope. 


• You will monitor performance in line with Project objectives and ensure to meet the key schedule milestones as defined in the contract


• You will challenge and monitor cost/production.

Desired profile

• Proven track record in managing and leading large sized construction projects 


• Civil Engineering (Bridge & Building) technical expertise


• Experience working in multi-cultural teams


• A first experience on a camp based project 


• Strong leadership and management skills,


• Wide ranging independent judgement evident, proven track record in this regard


• Acceptance of responsibility of role, and actively seeks opportunities to enhance personal performance


• Balanced and resilient


• Excellent Command of English, Knowledge of French would be an advantage
