VINCI Construction Geoinfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised design-builder of major infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together as Joint Venture partners on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To meet the ambitious goals of the project, we are recruiting an experienced Contract Manager (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, with missions to the remote camp on the project site (located 300 Km from POM).

Reporting to the Project Director, you will:

• Analyse and monitor the application of the main contract with Client (legal follow-up and financial follow-up) including:
  • follow-up of disbursements and overruns related to the quantification, follow-up of the monthly hours compared to the realization in the field
  • Draft the day-to-day correspondence including claims and Variation Requests
  • Register and follow up the Variation Order/ Variation Requests, the events, monitoring Client’s correspondence and raise the claims within the time periods prescribed by the Contract;
• Identify  and assess the potential risks: contractual, commercial, financial risks whether arising from the main contract or subcontracts/supply contracts and propose mitigation measures to be adopted to address these risks, in compliance with the Contract.
• Ensure the  contractual demands of the different third parties are registered and addressed, in coordination with the Subcontract Manager
• Identify and anticipate the risks associated with delays and therefore penalties
• Participate actively to the definition of the contractual and commercial strategy 
• Assist in production of monthly client valuations and submit them in accordance with conditions of the main contract such that payments are received by the due date, 
• Periodically attend internal monthly meetings such as Project Review Meetings
• Manage Subcontract Manager 
• Liaise with Quantity Surveyor, Financial Director and Doc Controller when needed
• Liaise with the Head Office as required

Desired profile

• You have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in contract management / construction law, preferably on large oil and gas infrastructure projects
• To be successful in the role you will be:
  • able to liaise with Client as well as numerous stakeholders;
  • a team player able to bring positive energy to the team; 
  • proactive and rigorous
  • able to work under pressure
• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree is an asset
• You are adaptable and internationally mobile
• You have a good command of English (including technical English, as contracts and standards are drawn up in English) and can work in a multicultural environment.
