Role

STMicroelectronics Malta is seeking a skilled and motivated Process Technician (NPI) to join our New Product Introduction team.

This is a hands-on position under the supervision of an NPI (New Product Introduction) engineer, focusing on equipment setup, engineering trial builds, process measurements, and first-line troubleshooting during new product builds. The Process Technician facilitates the transition of new products from development to manufacturing.

The job holder shall work on a 4 Shift pattern, consisting of Day (06:00 till 18:00), Night (18:00 till 06:00), Rest, and Off, including weekends and Public Holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·  Work under NPI engineers' guidance to run process validation trials and support the execution of Design of Experiments (DoE).
·  Operate various manufacturing tools for assembling NPI builds and perform first-line troubleshooting: equipment short stoppages, process yield and product quality.
·  Report e-Lot assembly build performance: process quality controls, process yield and other observations (UPH, MTBA) for engineering analysis.
·  Support and collaborate with manufacturing shift engineers to ensure smooth handover from engineering to manufacturing.

Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall:

·  Possess an MQF Level 4 qualification in a technical/engineering-related subject and at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
·  Demonstrate assertiveness by confidently addressing challenges and proactively seeking solutions, viewing obstacles as opportunities for growth and improvement.
·  Exhibit intelligence, adaptability, and energy by staying innovative and focused on achieving clear, measurable goals while embracing change.
·  Good proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with the manufacturing personnel and engineers.
·  Show strong discipline and self-motivation by consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards, while fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing positively within team environments.
