About
Neoplants is a biotech start-up founded by Lionel (Ex Google) and Patrick (PhD Genetic Editing, ENS), working on the first generation of bio-engineered plants to fight air pollution. We're starting with indoor air pollution, which is up to 5 times higher than outdoors, and is caused by a specific type of pollutant called VOCs. We create plants capable of effectively remediate these compounds in your home (up to 30 times more effective than traditional plants). Our longer-term ambition is to leverage our technologies for other large-scale applications, such as CO2 capture and storage. We are backed by top tier Silicon Valley and European investors and we are currently based in Paris, France.
Job Description
Neoplants is seeking a highly skilled and creative Plant Molecular Research Engineer to join our world-class R&D team. At Neoplants, we harness the power of genetic engineering to enhance nature and address the global climate crisis. This role involves working on complex, multidisciplinary projects at the intersection of biotechnology, design, and sustainability.

Preferred Experience
·
Ph.D. in Plant Biology / Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Plant Genetics, or a related field, with +2 years of relevant experience (or related MSc with 5+ years of experience).
·
Extensive hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including: DNA/plasmid library construction, Advanced Molecular Cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, and DNA, RNA, protein purification, and mini/maxi preps.
·
Proficiency in plant transformation techniques and in vitro culture .
·
Proven experience with CRISPR-mediated genome editing in plants.
·
Strong understanding of plant physiology and Genetics.
·
High experience in project management , High organizational and reporting skills.
·
Demonstrated creativity and a proactive, execution-oriented mindset .
·
Experience using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) for tracking and managing transgenic lines.
·
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Bonus if you have:

Background in synthetic biology .
·
Experience working with non-model plant species .
·
Knowledge of plant secondary metabolism and plant chemistry .
