Founding Backend Engineer
CDD Paris (Paris)
Job description
About
We are redefining how people will book travel via AI agents. Our SaaS platform built around MCP servers lets airlines, hotels sell through AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, and voice agents. Our founding team is composed of successful repeat founders in the travel industry that have scaled companies in the past. You’d be one of our first engineers (#1–3), helping shape the tech, culture, and product from the ground up.
Job Description
This is a hands-on position where you’ll architect and own the services that connect our platform to travel suppliers worldwide. Here’s what you’ll do:
·
Integration Services: Design, build, and maintain connectors for hotel and airline APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, NDC). Own the full lifecycle—from discovery docs to production rollout.
·
AI-Driven Automation: Build the code-gen pipelines that automatically create connectors with schema mappers, and regression tests for each new partner.
·
Data Pipelines: Stream millions of price and availability updates through Pub/Sub queues into DBs, ensuring low-latency access for conversational search.
·
Reliability & Observability: Define SLAs, implement retries, circuit breakers, and distributed tracing; stand up dashboards and alerts so partners can trust our uptime.
·
Architecture & Standards: Establish best practices, CI/CD templates, and Terraform modules that future engineers will inherit. Balance speed, cost, and tech debt while hardening security and compliance.
·
Collaboration: Work directly with founders, product, and partner engineers to translate business needs into technical specs.
Preferred Experience
·
3+ years building distributed back-end services, ideally in a strongly-typed language (Go, Rust, Java, C#).
·
Experience designing and consuming third-party APIs at scale (auth, rate limits, retries, versioning).
·
Working knowledge of SQL , message queues (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and cloud-native tooling (Docker, Kubernetes or serverless).
·
Comfort iterating quickly in a tiny team: you write the ADR, the code, the tests and the postmortem.
·
Professional English and an instinct for turning customer pain into product requirements.
Recruitment Process
·
30-minute intro call with our CTO/founder.
·
Take-home problem-solving exercise.
·
Technical interview.
·
Culture and "vibe" check with all co-founders.
·
Offer extended within 48 hours.
