ABOUT THE JOB

Lead Immunology Research for the development of a global NV projects for the function on schedule and within budget, in agreement with the HSE rules and quality requirements (Good Research Practices GRP and Good Clinical Laboratories Practices GCLP).

This mission is performed in the frame of the new Global immunology organization, in line with the iNVent/RACI principles. The scope of this position is end-to-end Immunology over the value chain, the incumbent may lead preclinical research projects or projects at clinical stage or both.

As research project owner for early projects, he (she) transversally manages a team of research scientists to achieve project goals. In close collaboration with this team and in agreement with the department/function heads, she elaborates the project strategy and development plan for her function. She is the functional interface between the function and the global project team. He/She is accountable for overseeing function timelines, resources, budget and quality of deliverables. She reports project status, alerts on any issues and delays and pro-actively proposes mitigation plans to limit project impacts.

As immunology lead for development early-stage projects, he/she defines and manages Immunology testing deliverables for new product development, registration extensions, and project related technology interactions with internal collaborators, as well as external groups including key opinion leaders.

Project leadership of the scientific strategy for end-to-end immunology performance for Novel Vaccine projects

·  Defines the function strategy to serve the project and the functional project plan, in agreement with the department/function heads
·  Establishes for the definition of the end-to-end Global Immunology strategies (non-clinical pharmaco-immunology and clinical assay strategies)
·  Guarantee project-centricity of the Global Immunology function and seamless transition from research to development for supported projects by demonstrating and documenting preclinical PoC; and fostering alignment/harmonization of immunogenicity or other read-outs used for clinical PoC
·  Is responsible for availability of function documentation and of the update of project repository
·  Accountable for the achievement of Project Key Milestones & Major Milestones that fall under function’s responsibility within the respect of budget and timelines
·  Lead research scientific efforts to maximize efficiency, workflow, and alignment with the project timelines in consultation with the global project Team
·  Conducts function risk analysis, develop risk mitigation strategy and communicates the results to the project

Management of project interfaces

·  Is accountable for interacting with Global Project Teams (GPT)
·  Lead the Preclinical working groups and report to GPT
·  Is accountable for preparing and presenting functional contribution to xSFs
·  Ensures deliverables are available on time and with the expected quality
·  Provides functional contribution to support vaccin gates deliverables

Planning/Budget and Resource changing

·  Is accountable for defining and monitoring functional budget (cost & FTE) for her projects interacting both with Preclinical and Clinical Departments of the Global Immunology function
·  Develops functional/subteam resource scenarii on her project
·  If required for assigned projects, manages external contracts and grants
·  Develop project management skills to coordinate multiple functions and activities to optimize clinical laboratory testing and deliver clinical results on time
·  Accountable for the lab release data planning

Communication

·  Is accountable for leading timely communication on the project within her function and from her/his function to the project
·  Is accountable for providing function reporting to project report
·  Is accountable for analyzing and evaluating any delays, technical and cost issues in subteam(s) and/or function(s), for alerting line management within the function and for proposing solutions/scenarios to mitigate project impacts
·  Contributes to the definition of the project publication plan and actively participates to publications involving her function in line with the publication policy
·  Participates to relevant congresses and ensure communications on her project in line with the Legal and IP Departments
·  Maintains an active KOL network on her projects through attendance to congresses, consortia or scientific advisory boards

ABOUT YOU

Requirement

·  PhD in immunology and 2/3 years post-doc experience in immunology and infectious diseases
·  Strong abilities to lead transversally laboratory work for the need of the project
·  Excellent interpersonal and Communications skills
·  Excellent interpersonal and Communications skills in French and English
