SBS A2R Treasury Accountant

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Transformation organization, is setting up a new captive Business Services centre in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services.

With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services centre will be covering the following areas of the process:

·  Assets Management
·  Tax and Interco accounting
·  Treasury accounting
·  GL accounts closing and reporting

The purpose of this role is to:

·  Deliver treasury accounting services to SBS
·  Clear transitory accounts
·  Perform bank reconciliations and related adjustments
·  Book transactions relating to financial instruments, debts and loans
·  Calculate Forex net positions
·  Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
·  Deliver operational KPIs and comply with Sanofi policies and guidelines
·  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

The Treasury Accountant reports to Treasury Accounting Manager and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control...), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operation

·  Deliver treasury accounting services to SBS
·  Reconcile A2R GL transit accounts, book manual postings to clear them
·  Perform bank reconciliations and book related adjustments
·  Book transactions relating to financial instruments, debts and loans
·  Calculate Forex net positions
·  Manage month end closure relating to treasury accounting and prepare related reporting
·  Contribute to business reviews
·  Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
·  Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs
·  Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user
·  Pro-actively anticipate operational issues and coach junior analysts
·  Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to treasury accounting activities

Continuous improvement

·  Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities
·  Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition

Expected skills

Functional

·  Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential)
·  Hands on expertise in bank reconciliation processes and activities (essential)
·  Knowledge of GL accounting and reporting (essential)
·  Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous)
·  Good business acumen (advantageous)
·  Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (advantageous)

Technical

·  Hands-on experience of SAP FICO (essential) and other accounting related IT tools (e.g. Trintech Cadency) (advantageous)
·  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel (essential)

Interpersonal

·  Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner (essential)
·  Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end to end mindset (essential)
·  Good communication skills (advantageous)
·  Attentive to customer needs and feedback (advantageous)

Leadership

·  Ability to organize, prioritize and structure the tasks for oneself and direct reports (essential)
·  Attentive to detail and works with precision (advantageous)
·  Action oriented, delivery driven, change agent (advantageous)
·  Role model / coach to junior analysts (advantageous)

Background and Experience

·  Graduate degree in accounting or finance (essential)
·  Good and proven experience in GL accounting preferably in an international multicultural environment (essential)
·  Fluent in English (essential)
·  Knowledge of other European languages (advantageous)
