Postdoctoral Fellowship: Computational Antibody Engineering

We are seeking a highly talented Computational Scientist for a postdoctoral position to join the Protein Engineering group within Sanofi US Biologics Research Department.  We use leading-edge structural biology and computational modeling tools to support different biologics project needs from Sanofi’s multi-targeting, multi-modality research pipeline. Our team has a great track record of patents and publications, including Science, Nature Cancer, and Nature Communications, in the area of biologics characterization, antibody engineering and multi-specific antibodies. This postdoc project will focus on developing a machine learning approach to predict epitope-paratope, given any antibody-antigen pair, by combining in-depth understanding of structure biology, antibody engineering, and large datasets both internally and externally. The successful candidate will be with Ph. D. degree in related area and has an advanced understanding and practical experience with developing and applying complex machine learning solutions for structural biology data.

Responsibilities:

·  Interact closely and be part of interdisciplinary antibody engineering teams to drive effective decision-making by mining and developing predictive models
·  Extract new knowledge and disruptive insights from the large and rich body of data collected internally and externally.
·  Develop and implement methods for extracting patterns and correlations from diversified data sources using cutting edge computation and data science toolkits.
·  Keep ahead of scientific literature and interact with internal and external scientists to integrate novel data science technologies

Basic qualifications:

·  Ph. D. in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer sciences, bioinformatics, mathematics, computational biology, or related field with 0-3 years of academic or industrial experience.
·  In-depth experience with modern and classical methods used in artificial intelligence.
·  Fluent programming with Python (or R), preferably in Linux and high-performance computing environments
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills
·  Passion to collaborate with others, self-development with a focus on scientific know-how, and sharing knowledge externally as publications or conference presentations.
·  Must have the authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship will be provided.

Preferred qualifications:

·  Working knowledge of structural biology and antibody discovery is a plus
·  Hands on experience with data analysis software such as Spotfire or similar
·  Familiar with the foundational concepts in molecular biology and biochemistry
