Job description

JOB PURPOSE

This role is a key position within the SLT responsible for the delivery of site growth strategy through building and overseeing the right Process and Technology team, owning new product strategy, the processes, the manufacturing technology and ensuring the team has the tools and system to be successful. He/she will play an important role in creating a culture of collaboration among diverse teams working on improving the business results across all products, and promote a science centric approach to process development, process improvement and knowledge retention. The role will lead site business growth strategy and response to changes in science and manufacturing technology. He/she must design initiatives to foster a culture of sustainable change through embedding of SMS methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

·  Accountable Reporting: Site Director, the job holder will be a member of the Management team.
·  Functional Reporting: Head of DS New Products & International • Synthetics and Oral Solids platform
·  Reporting to the job holder will be a process chemists and engineers.

SITE LEVEL ACCOUNTABILITIES

·  Participate as a key member of the site Leadership team by proactively engaging cross functionally to achieve site goals and priorities. Ensure that reporting staff understand the shared accountabilities at department +QDCI team for goals and priorities
·  Provide expertise, professional advice, and guidance to the site director, he/she will lead the ideation of site product portfolio and manufacturing technology adaptation. He/she will deploy this strategy through the site priority roadmap to drive process excellence,
·  Create, develop and communicate a compelling vision of science and data centric organization, driving all process development, improvement, investigation and manufacturing.
·  Responsible for the successful management and implementation of new product introduction strategy and improvement projects/initiatives such as PAT technology and yields program.

FUNCTIONAL LEVEL ACCOUNTABILITIES

·  Provide a Center of Technical Excellence, utilizing the laboratory facilities, equipment, analytical techniques to enhance the technical depth and knowledge for the site.
·  Adopt latest technologies where possible for current processes, new project and initiatives to improve site capability.
·  Ensure products and process knowledge are kept current and transferrable.
·  Responsible for business continuity action for critical processing systems that prevent disruption to supply and impact to sit KPI.
·  Collaborate with data scientist/analyst to identify opportunity to improve materials yields.
·  Responsible for current process robustness and lead investigation on chemistry and complex deviation
·  Lead internal tech transfer processes to ensure flawless development processing of target molecule.
·  Develop new framework for new molecules introduction, from development to production to support regulatory submission.
·  Ensure timely communicate to the site leadership team for up to date on projects. e.g. Master plans, detailed schedules, etc.
·  Support SMS and Procurement CI initiatives in SMART spending program
·  Collaborate with internal stake holders for opportunity to internalizing existing molecules to site.
·  Represent site in collaborating with external partners, institutions, and authority to further site interests.
·  Ensure process investigation, improvement and development are executed according to GMP guidance, compendial adherence.
·  Responsible for regular review of OOS Inventory Stock and develop GMP compliant solution and process for remediation.
·  Drive and implement appropriate directions that foster positive safety behaviour and wellbeing of the site employees. Ensure compliance of company Life Saving Rules and being proactive in identifying, addressing, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
·  Plan succession strategy at all levels through talent acquisition, performance management, providing opportunity for high performers, communication of expectation and self-actualization.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

·  Master or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and hands on experience is preferred
·  Understanding of APIs technology and business
·  Enjoy working in multi-culture environment with at least 5 years leadership in managing dynamic team
·  Working experiences in process development, process characterisation etc.
·  Proven track record of new production transfer
·  Change agent mind-set, self-driven actor, confident, all-rounded thinking, enjoy simplicity
·  Good influencer and demonstrated collaboration skill with good business acumen
·  Comfortable and enjoy DATA crunching
