JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Chromatography Data System Service Owner is to build and deliver his service into the industrial scope. The service owner is accountable for successful operation, continuous improvement, and relationship with the business for the given services.
· He/She drives the application lifecycle to meet business needs in an operational and financially efficient manner, and in the frame of the pharmaceutical GxP environment. He guarantees and promotes the right usage of Sanofi ITS and Industrial standards for Processes, Applications and Infrastructure environments. He defines the relevant catalogue of services and ensures quality and compliance of the end to end delivery.
· He works in close collaboration with suppliers, ITS Business Analysts, ITS Tech (infrastructures) and ITS Quality Operations. He remains up to date on company’s standards, IT industry practices and emerging standards, and contributes to ITS standards definition and maintenance.
· Main systems in scope are laboratory systems.
· The application to manage is Empower (Chromatography Data System).
CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES
Context
· Sanofi strategic direction is currently to standardize processes and to embrace the digital transformation of Industrial Affairs perimeter, looking at the opportunity to simplify its current solution landscape and to execute the move from legacy systems to one Chromatography Data System for Sanofi.
· In this context, Empower is the application chosen to be the CDS.
· Empower is interfaced with various Laboratory Information Management Systems.
Challenges
· Be familiar with Sanofi IT ecosystem in the Laboratory domain to address business requirements from multiple industrial GBUs while leveraging and extending existing Core Models.
· Design and build core solutions as close to standard market solutions, on the basis of state-of-the-art best practices and aiming at aligning processes and enabling industrial efficiency across the different industrial sites of Sanofi.
· Prepare solution and documentation to support smooth and fast roll-out of the solution in different industrial sites.
· Safeguard the proper deployment of core solutions on the different industrial sites.
· Collaborate transversally with relevant industrial stakeholders.
· Mobilize expertise and internal/external resources in a matrixial and international context.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy development and Implementation
· Remain current on technology trends and Benchmark with other companies and partners to bring innovative inputs to our solutions, operating models and to our strategy
· Collaborate with peers (Enterprise Architects, other solution architects, technical architects…) to review solution design and/or introduction of new technology to ensure compliance with Sanofi standards
· Explains / presents architecture and technical matters in an understanding way to ITS management team, staff and business stakeholders. Able to explain complex matters in a simple and understandable way
Business Alignment
· Understand the business requirements for the various processes in their domain, be able to challenge, to consolidate and to extrapolate them in order to build solutions expendable to multi-GBU use cases and plant configuration.
· Provide technical leadership during the full lifecycle and ensure adoption and adequate uses of the solution.
· Maximize customer satisfaction considering also to minimize build and maintenance costs, and risks associated with fulfilment of Business needs.
· Propose innovative ITS solution to address new business needs creating competitive advantage.
People Management
· Coordinate inform and lead people in a matrixial context.
· Facilitate the transfer of know-how, experience and best practices.
· Contribute to ITS skills development within his/her domain.
Delivery Management and Quality of services
· Oversee all ITS activities within his/her domain (solutions studies, design, build, lifecycle, operational excellence,).
· Safeguard deployment projects.
· End-to-end design including integration with partner systems (SDMS, LIMS, LES and ELN), labelling technologies, and mobile technologies.
· Plan and monitor appropriate resources allocations.
· Plan the workload, prepare and monitor the budget for his/her technical area.
· Participate in drawing up service contracts with external partners and ensure compliance with commitments.
· Participate in the definition of indicators for performance and quality of service, monitor and communicate them.
· Manage preventive / corrective maintenance for components.
· Ensure that standards and recommendations for Quality, Security and Accessibility of ITS are correctly understood and applied.
· Ensure that standards and rules for Platform Mgt (Release mgt, Solution Documentation, Testing) are correctly understood and applied.
· Ensure the compliance of the solutions within the area in relation to legal and regulatory requirements.
JOB-HOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Graduated from Engineering school or Business school (Analytical Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related).
· Master degree.
Experience & knowledge
· 3 to 10+ years work experience in industrial ITS and laboratory domain.
· Successful and significant Project Management experience.
· Proven leadership skills.
· Demonstrated experience in a Global environment.
· Broad knowledge of Laboratory Processes in industrial plants.
· Experience in process industry (within LiveScience / pharmaceutical industries would be a plus).
· Chromatography (HPLC and GC) Testing experience supporting laboratory business processes.
· Experience on NuGenesis or Empower applications from Waters would be a plus.
· Proven vision, ability to anticipate evolutions due to internal and external factors.
