To facilitate this transformation, a new Business Operations Business Unit is being established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity.
This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement Services, the Head of Source to Pay plays a critical role in the development, execution, and transformation of Sanofi’s Procurement strategy.
As Head of Source to Pay, the incumbent will partner closely with the Head of Procurement Services, the Chief Procurement Officer, and his leadership to lead a team of shared service and procurement professionals focused on driving the implementation of simple, standard, and efficient procurement services, unlocking value and enhancing productivity through innovation, scale and delivery excellence across the Source to Pay value chain.
Responsibilities

Lead Source to Pay organization of ~650 (~250 Sanofians + ~400 BPO FTEs, €30M+ Budget) and oversee efforts of strategic BPO partner responsible for the delivery and execution of Sanofi’s Source to Pay strategy and operations; grow operational footprint in-line with broader GBO and Hub operating model, leveraging existing Hub locations in Bogota, Budapest, Hyderabad, and Kuala Lumpur.

Lead a team of Global Process Owners and Process Leads to design, develop, and govern Sanofi’s S2P Target Operating Model (TOM) and supporting digital estate with a focus on driving best-in-class simplification of the global end-to-end process; drive implementation of TOM, S2P / P2P transformation, and digital roadmap in partnership with Digital, Finance, Procurement and GBO Contract Excellence team.

Ensure efficient, high quality and compliant delivery of Source to Pay sub-processes, including sourcing lifecycle management, contracting, vendor master data management, indirect purchasing (PR/PO/GR), invoice reception and processing, payments, travel and expense management, tail spend management and supplier relationship management.

Regularly assess processes, procedures, tools, and technology integrations. Drive improvements that optimize processes, increase compliance, enhance cross-functional insights, and ensure adherence to core model.

Establish clear program metrics, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage and report on program performance and value delivery. Use metrics to identify risk areas and opportunities and assess the health of end-to-end operations. Leverage Net Promoter Score (NPS) and User Experience (UX) forums to measure stakeholder and customer satisfaction.

Develop and maintain strong stakeholder and customer relationships with Procurement, Finance, Legal and GBU Executive Committee members, their teams, and the 2nd line of defense (IC&P, E&BI) to drive simplification and standardization and strengthen the control environment across Source to Pay.

Create an organization of change agents through the management and development of Global Business Operations staff and functions BPO provider – provide open, honest, and valuable feedback on the performance of team members and BPO in support of individual and functional-level goals and objectives.

Demonstrate and maintain domain expertise, as well as working knowledge of Pharma/Biotech industry, staying current on developments in Business Operations, Shared Services, Procurement and Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
·
A BA/BS or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business discipline.
·
15+ of experience in complex, global transformations, strategy, operations and/or consulting
·
Program and project leadership skills with a track record of S2P / P2P executional excellence
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective collaborator with strong trust-building and influencing skills.
·
Ability to think strategically, innovate, and execute a plan.
·
Results-oriented with strong analytics skills; ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
·
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
·
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
Preferred
·
MBA or other advanced degree
·
Experience in healthcare and/or life-science industry
·
Experience in establishing and developing shared service capabilities and services.
·
Knowledge of SOX and fundamental accounting principles
·
Experience with SAP / Concur / COUPA
·
Lean and Six Sigma training and/or certification.
·
Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
·
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and intellectual curiosity
·
Developed business partnering, collaboration, and interpersonal skills required.
·
Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior level stakeholders.
·
Ability to work transversally and within a highly matrixed environment.

Global or international experience and ability to work with a diverse team.
·
Prior BPO management experience.
