Job description
Position overview: As a Data Governance Architect, you will be responsible for providing knowledge and guidance in the implementation and optimization of Informatica solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with clients to understand their data governance requirements, designing data governance solutions using Informatica CDGC, and assisting in the implementation and configuration of these tools. You will play a critical role in ensuring data quality, data lineage, and compliance with regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Foundations
· Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand their data governance objectives, challenges, and requirements
· Develop data governance strategies and roadmaps using Informatica CDGC and CDQ solutions to meet the client's business needs
· Identify gaps and recommend best practices to improve data governance processes and policies
· Provide support in the implementation of the data governance framework
· Collaborate in defining data management policies, standards, and best practices
· Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify and resolve data management related issues
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, or industry-specific regulations
Solution Design and Implementation
· Design and configure Informatica CDGC and CDQ based on the data governance requirements
· Create and manage metadata models, data lineage, business glossaries, and data quality rules using Informatica
· Collaborate with technical teams to integrate Informatica with other data management tools and systems
· Develop and execute test plans to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the implemented solutions
· Assist in the installation, configuration, and administration of Informatica environments
· Define and enforce data governance processes and workflows using Informatica
· Train end-users and stakeholders on the usage and best practices of Informatica
· Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Informatica Axon and EDC implementations
Data quality
· Perform data profiling activities to analyze data sources, identify data quality issues, and assess data completeness
· Develop and implement data cleansing processes to standardize and cleanse data, remove duplicates, resolve inconsistencies, and apply data validation rules
· Design and implement data quality rules using Informatica Data Quality tools, including business rules, data validation rules, and data standardization rules
· Collaborate with data integration teams to ensure seamless integration of data quality processes within data integration workflows
· Conduct data quality assessments, create data quality metrics, and analyze data quality reports to measure the effectiveness of data cleansing processes
· Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions to address them. Perform impact analysis and implement corrective measures
· Maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries to document data quality rules, transformations, and data lineage
· Optimize data quality processes for efficiency and performance by analyzing data processing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and fine-tuning data quality transformations and rules
· Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and other stakeholders to understand data quality requirements and develop data quality strategies
· Create technical documentation, including data quality specifications, process flows, and user guides
· The Data Governance Specialist is expected to help the team to produce and report on data quality and trending analytics to steering committees and working groups
Transversal topics
· Implements the dashboards and reports to be able to monitor the data governance program progress for each our data foundations and data products
· Resolves technical incidents in the tools under his responsibility
· Supports and participates in change management activities by generating content, giving training, etc.
· The Data Governance Specialist is expected to Lead or participate in data-governance steering committees and working groups to adapt to evolving changes to the business, improve data quality and business processes, and refine master data policies over time
· The Data Governance Specialist is expected to exhibit ability to interact with key project sponsors as well as business and IT stakeholders, both on-shore and off-shore
· The Data Governance Specialist is expected to provide a sustainable way to monitor key performance indicators of the Data Governance solution to ensure data quality and established policies are working as expected
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
· Hands-on experience as a data governance Specialist or a similar role, specifically with Informatica CDGC, CDQ, Axon and EDC
· In-depth knowledge of Informatica CDGC and CDQ, including configuration, and administration
· Hands-on experience in Informatica Data Quality
· Should have experience in Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services
· Strong understanding of data governance concepts, data quality principles, and regulatory compliance
· Experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and processes
· Proficiency in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality tools and techniques
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams
· Relevant certifications in Informatica Axon and EDC, such as Informatica Data Governance Specialist, are a plus
· Familiarity with other Informatica products, and data integration, and data warehousing concepts is desirable.
· Hands-on experience in Microsoft PowerBI
· Valuable certifications in Microsoft PowerBI and other tools, not Informatica tools mentioned above
