Key Accountabilities:

Formulation of Media and Diluents as Per SOP's, cGMP for Bacterial Development:

·  Prepare different types of media for Bacterial Development as per SOP's for clinical trial material as well as Development work.
·  Involves completion of batch production records and concurrent entries on BPR during production to ensure products are completed as required, according to daily schedule.

Maintain Media Laboratory and Documentation:

·  Maintain media make-up facilities, laboratory in good order.
·  Involve insuring that laboratory is kept clean with good house keeping in accordance with procedures in SOP's.
·  Routine set up of pH meter, Conductivity meter and Integrity tester.
·  Ensure validation and certification of equipment is up to date.

Monitoring of Raw Materials Inventory:

·  Organizing inventory of chemicals in the work area.
·  Ordering of chemicals or arranging with group leader for the supply of new chemicals.
·  Sending expired chemicals for retest to stores when necessary.
·  Includes ensuring the chemicals being used for manufacture of product have current quality assurance approval.

Preparing of Agar Plates as Per SOP's and cGMP:

·  Prepare different types of Agar plates (e.g. Middle brook agar, YT agar, ECGM Agar plates) as per SOP, cGMP.
·  Complete BPR's concurrent entries.
·  Products completed as per schedule.

Environmental Monitoring:

·  Involves sampling media for sterility testing, Gowning procedures, Aseptic technique.
·  Involves Air, Surfaces, and Personnel monitoring for product quality using Environmental monitoring plates.
·  Involves paper work, Labelling samples. Filling out BPR, TR, etc.

Required Education and Experience:

·  Minimum three (3) years Bachelor's Degree College (Microbiology) along with one (1) year of relevant work experience is an asset.
·  Adequate understanding of basic chemistry and basic microbiology
·  Knowledge of cGMPs relevant to media production
·  Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for successful execution of media preparation and GMP activities.
·  Flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced and continually changing environment.
