Job description

Reporting to the Safran Seats GB site Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) within

the Strategic Purchasing Department

This role involves leading and participating in the pro-active management of supplier's

performance through business reviews, tactical recovery monitoring and risk

assessment mitigation.

It will be essential that a positive and professional approach is maintained at all times

and good supplier relationships are formed in order to work collectively on a common

approach. The role requires a significant amount of travelling (up to 80%) within the

UK and oversees when necessary.

Manage a portfolio of Local and Global Suppliers where necessary to ensure

Safran requirements are met and understood.

Compile and monitor action plans for poor performing Suppliers.

· 
Lead / participate in multisite Supplier business reviews with a Safran cross

functional team (CFT).

·  Ensure a common approach is taken towards management of the Supplier and

that the Supplier recognises this approach from Safran.

·  Work within a Safran CFT to ensure successful work package transfers in the

Supply Chain.

·  Support the SPM in the effective implementation of Supplier Performance strategy

and initiatives.

·  Manage internal expectations with key Customers to ensure full customer

satisfaction.

·  Conduct rate readiness assessments and support maturity audits when

necessary.

Candidate skills & requirements

Conduct regular Supplier Reviews with suppliers depending on risk and

criticality

· 
Establish Supplier visit schedules, depending on risk and criticality

· 
Drive Supplier visits, supported by Safran site SPM if required

· 
Monitor KPI's (OTD, OQD) - a consolidation of Local and Global Suppliers, liaison

with other Safran sites is necessary.

· 
Monitor all Safran sites issues for any local poor performing suppliers.

· 
Owns the “Improvement action plan” (dedicated to the supplier and integrating all

sites issues) to recover from a situation.

Conduct Risk and Rate Assessments

·  Assess mid to long term (2-5 Years) capacity and monitor action plans to cope

with Safran business needs.

·  Assess industrial maturity and risks and monitor mitigation plan.

Launch & coordinate application of logistics and order policy for all sites

·  Provide detail view of the order book per site, supplier delivery forecast & recovery

plan if any delay.

·  Provide logistics conditions, lead time (contractual and actual), batch size.

Escalate delivery and quality issues with the Supplier

· 
Escalate issues to drive decision making process with other functions.

· 
Identify & close out of root causes.

· 
Warning in case of supplier risk (delivery, quality, financial, ...)

· 
Communicate to the supplier on Major Program changes.

· 
Analyse impact on Load.

Monitor implementation (from supplier selection).

Coordinate meetings between Safran site focal points for a supplier

·  Establish periodic meeting calendar for current year, invite key stakeholders –

Periodicity according to criticality

· 
Communicate issues and best practices across Procurement Leaders / Agents

· 
Liaise with Purchasing to manage Supplier relationship and risks and other

common issues

·  Coordinate Recovery plans: managing the priorities consistent with the program

priorities
