Job description
Deliver industrialisation for new/modified products and manufacturing processes, ensuring production readiness, process validation, quality, rate, and cost requirements are met. Acts as a project technical owner for defined work packages.
This role will champion effective process development, DFM capability and efficiency throughout the entire product and process development lifecycle.
Lead/supervise a small team to execute industrialisation plans, balancing workload, coaching team members, and ensuring adherence to standards and schedules.
Core Responsibilities: Process design, PFMEA/Control Plans, work instructions, routings, tooling spec, line balancing, trials (PPAP/FAI), capability studies (Cp/Cpk), issue resolution/problem solving (8D), DfM/DfA/DTC. Qualification of new tools, machines and working practices.
Responsible for process performance and is a first point of contact to resolve technical issues on the Production Line. May be required to approve the work of others.
Leadership & Collaboration: Industrial WP Planning (incl. NRC's), Leads technical activities; mentors juniors informally; collaborates proactively with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, HSE, and Ops.
Governance & Standards: Applies company standards (OneSafran, APQP/PPAP, MSA, SPC, ERP/MES, HSE, regulatory). Through full Product/Process Lifecyle
Innovation & CI: Identifies and implements CI using LEAN toolsets (SMED, 5S, Poka‑Yoke, waste reduction); pilots digital tools.
Risk & Readiness: Owns PFMEA actions; run‑at‑rate, pre‑production builds, capacity verification; leads RCCA for launch issues.
Financial Accountability: Builds costed routings; supports capex business cases and ROI; delivers to cost/efficiency targets, validates production standard timings / KPI's.
People Management: N/A (coaching/mentoring only). Work Package Lead/Supplier lead
Typical Deliverables: Process flow, VSM, Risk Assessments, PFMEA, Control Plan, WI/SOPs, layout & line balance, PPAP/FAI packs, MSA/SPC reports, packaging/preservation specifications, run‑at‑rate results, trade study reports, validation reports.

Candidate skills & requirements
• Proven experience in manufacturing/industrialisation; strong APQP/PPAP/SPC; hands‑on with tooling/fixtures and validation.
• HNC / HND in mechanical, electronics or Production Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience of acting as a focal point for technologies and processes.
• Demonstrates a broad production engineering experience including cost down, design for manufacture / assembly / test techniques. Ability to challenge design and manufacturing techniques to ensure DFM and DTC requirements are met.
• Solid communicator and able to influence effectively at all levels through mediums including written reports and delivery of presentations to ensure delivery of results.
• Ability to problem solve and accurately analyse, offer concise conclusions and report findings from technical data. Proven ability to champion and lead investigations, process capability assessments & improvements and deliver resulting work packages.
• Demonstrated experience of identifying opportunity and leading process improvement activity.
• Understanding of Statistical Process Control, Process FMEA's, DFM & DTC activities.
• Must be able to lead and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team and deliver to tight deadlines
• Experience in working with and building strong relationships within a supply base to develop solutions that work for all parties.
• Has a working knowledge of legislative requirements including REACH and HSE
• Must be energetic, strong influencer, pragmatic and results driven
• Able to think strategically and see the bigger picture, customer focused mindset (internal and external).
